NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli has been passed fit for Royal Challengers Bangalore’s next match of IPL 2017, versus Mumbai Indians at Bangalore’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday (April 14).
A press release from the BCCI on Thursday confirmed Kohli’s recovery, stating that the RCB and India captain had successfully undergone rehabilitation on his right shoulder.
Kohli, 28, injured himself when diving to stop a ball near the boundary during the third Test between India and Australia in Ranchi last month and has missed RCB’s first three games of IPL 10. In his absence, the franchise was led by Shane Watson and lost two of three matches.
RCB are currently sixth on the IPL 10 leaderboard with two points from three matches, having beaten by defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab.
In the 2016 IPL, Kohli had burned up the charts with a record 973 runs in 16 matches with four centuries and seven fifties.
