Andre Russell banned for one year for doping-code violation

West Indies allrounder Andre Russell has been banned for one year from cricket for a whereabouts clause violation by an independent anti-doping panel in Kingston. The final match of the T20I series will be played in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Jasprit Bumrah’s revival as a death bowler in the second T20 International at Nagpur was remarkable, especially in view of his rather dismal show in the first match of the series. He and Ashish Nehra were largely instrumental in India being able to level the series in a nail-biter on Sunday. Now the caravan moves to Bengaluru for a decider, the same place where India registered a one-run victory against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup last year. Shahid Afridi To Focus On Cricket Leagues

Shahid Afridi hasn’t played for Pakistan since the ICC World T20 in 2016.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi on Monday said he would focus on cricket leagues around the world, hinting that his international career is now more or less over. “I have played all the cricket I wanted to and now I just want to focus and enjoy playing in the leagues,” he said while speaking at an event at the Karachi University campus. The flamboyant all-rounder has been included in the Pakistan team since their disappointing campaigns at the Asia Cup and ICC World T20 in 2016. Aaron Finch Named Australia Captain For T20I Series vs Sri Lanka

Aaron Finch, who has captained Australia in six T20Is, returns as T20 skipper for the Sri Lanka series.

Opener Aaron Finch was on Tuesday named as Australia captain for the three-match Twenty20 international series against Sri Lanka, scheduled to start on February 17. With regular skipper Steven Smith leading Australia’s Test squad in the tour of India at the same time, Finch, who captained Australia in six T20Is between 2014 and 2016, has been handed the job for a second time. Finch was also named the captain of the Australia ODI team on Monday for the first match against New Zealand in Auckland after wicketkeeper Matthew Wade was ruled out due to back spasms.
